8 Months

We just can't believe Paisley hit the 8th month mark this Saturday!

(Sorry a little blurry!)

Growing up I constantly declared I would not be having kids and had little to no desire to be a mother...even as I type that statement it just blows my mind that I were ever to have those feelings. As Saturday came upon us, I was going back and forth if it would be crazy to make her a cupcake and let her practice her 1st birthday smash cake. We settled on letting her taste frosting off of a cupcake at a family baby shower :) Every milestone is a little better than the last and I do believe that the older they get you always think the present stage is more fun than the previous. Raising a child is quite the adventure.

As I mentioned previously, last weekend we went to Valentine to cheer on the Eagles (they did win by the way but I'll wait to brag them up after this week :) So it was just me and Paisley on our little road trip and she was just the best backseat co-pilot! I had imagined that we would be driving back to Chadron, in the dark, where she would be demanding attention while needing a diaper change and I would have to pull over in the middle of no where, and this is exactly where everything you don't want to see lurks. I'm sure this would of been the point where I would think and when was that part about changing my mind about kids? Haha. BUT NO!! She was just the sweetest.
She had another first at Valentine ...sitting in a highchair at a restaurant--such a big girl! Ok, lame first time mom excitement....w/ a picture, it's getting ridiculous.
I hope you all had a great weekend--we are getting geared up again for a busy week in the wrestling world--Wednesday, Brett will be in Pueblo, CO then there is a dual Thursday, in Chadron and back on the road again for UNK duals. As always, GO EAGLES!!

As the Spring semester begins, we are happy to have Em back in town and my cousin Ryan as well!! Back-up babysitter-whoop! :)

I hope everyone has a fabulous week!! Also, thank you for the sweet comments about the blog...I'm flattered people take time our of their day to read it!

They are too :)

Hello, 2014!

Hey all!

So here we are...the year 2014!! I've already have my lists upon lists of resolutions. The usual of my diet that will last a whole three days and my workout all made up in my mind that will end before my diet even begins...I'm banking on Brett to treat me like one of his wrestlers to keep me motivated. Another one of my many resolutions is TO KEEP UP WITH THIS BLOG! I hate when things are done half ass (ask my husband) so I need to step it up.

Speaking of stepping it up...

Yes! Our little Paisley is now pulling herself up to the couch....she started crawling about a month ago and it's just been bat shit crazy since then trying to constantly keep her out of the Christmas tree, crawling towards cords....you know, everything she can't have. It's funny to see her curiosity just blossom over night though...but you know what they say, curiosity got the cat a NO-NO (the original is a little harsh in this situation haha!)

It's so fun to see her grow so much more each day into her own little lady. Today I was messing around in the kitchen while we listened to some music munching on her yogurt melts when all of a sudden Pandora started to play a song I wouldn't be listening to if Paisley knew any better, as soon as I started getting flooded with memories of my younger days, out of the corner of my eye my daughter started dancing to the song... WHAT THE! I instantly snapped back to reality and we turned it back to 90s country.

It's hard to believe we are in 2014 and the our babies birth year has come and past, but this only excites me to the point of bursting knowing that her first birthday party is right around the corner...pinterest is already got me obsessed with looking at party ideas.
Another thing Brett and I realized is how much more fun holidays are now seeing them through your child's eyes! Spending Christmas with our families and seeing Paisley experience what all of the madness is about was so magical!

And another thing that is magical....Paisley's little cousin is due to enter the world anytime now! Brett's sister, Leigha and her husband Thye are at the hospital right as I type preparing for their sweet boy to meet everyone!!

Wrapping it up, Paisley and I are going on a road trip with the fam to cheer on our Eagles! They are doing outstanding this year and are meeting up with Morningside in Valentine, NE. So excited! The Sargent/Burwell wrestling team will also be attending a tournament that is taking place before the Chadron dual. GO EAGLES & HORNDOGS! Haha..that will NEVER get old. Till next time..... :)
